Founded in 1980 by John Lanigan

clockFounded in 1980 by well-known Atlantan John Lanigan, Sr., Lanigan Insurance Group has created a trademark name of insurance and financial service. John Lanigan Sr., after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in risk management, spent his early years working for Johnson and Higgins, and obtained his CPCU designation. He then used this expertise to start LIG in 1980.

John Lanigan, Sr. created a culture of focusing on customer relations and value enhancing service in the Atlanta market that has grown to cover risks all over the United States. The focus and commitment to detail, client contact, and client driven solutions allows our firm to have strong growth and excellent retention in a competitive marketplace. His knowledge, vision, and work ethic created growth and profitability throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and continues into the 21st century.

In 2001, John Lanigan Jr. joins the family business

In 2001, and in the wake of the tragic September 11th, John left New York and was called to return to the family business. Since that time, John Lanigan, Jr. has completed his CIC, and other advanced, designations to better advise clients in an all-encompassing manner.  A distinctive quality John’s clients appreciate in him is his hands-on, concierge approach to risk management & advice.
